Our new garden gazebo is ringed by a cherry-tree arch, bougainvillea and a huge mahogany. The VIP area for a national event in 2016, “From Bussa to Barrow and Beyond” our gazebo will become in 2017 a more intimate venue for exciting (and livestreamed!) musical and theatrical events. We will begin with Street Art, a very talented young band with a great repertoire around “Caribbean Funk”.
An amateur theatrical group will perform a moving reconstruction of the events in Barbados that led to freedom from slavery, including the parts played at Golden Grove itself. “Visitors on our “open days” (to be shown on our Events & News Page, Facebook and twitter) will be able to view the Plantation House and our small exhibitions on the end of slavery and Amerindian life (see “History”).
